Duterte Reveals Surprising Activities He, Gringo Did When He Helped Him Hide

Pres. Duterte admitted that he once helped Sen. Honasan.

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte made an admission that he has once helped Senator Gregorio ‘Gringo’ Honasan when he was evading the authorities.

There was a time in the past when Honasan has been into hiding for his role in coups against former Pres. Corazon ‘Cory’ Aquino. He was the chief of the Reform the Armed Forces Movement.

Honasan tried to evade the authorities. Recently, Pres. Duterte revealed that he has once helped Gringo. The Chief Executive’s admission has sparked news reports and elicited various reactions from people.

Based on a recent news report in Phil Star Global, Pres. Duterte expressed the surprising statement that he helped Honasan during the launching of the first humanitarian ship of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC). The said ship is tagged as the Amazing Race.

According to the President, when Honasan was evading the government authorities, he was with him and a guy from the Air Force whom he tagged as ‘Rod’. They were in Davao City, the hometown of the President and the city which he had served for more than two decades.

The head of Davao City now is the daughter of the President, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara. Her vice mayor is the presidential son Paolo Duterte.

Based on the news report, the Chief Executive revealed that they were going around the city during that time as they were geared with helmets. He said that they even ate durian on the sidewalks and no one was able to recognize Honasan.

“I said that’s how good our Armed Forces is,” the 72-year-old President said.

Meanwhile, the President did not mention as to when did he helped Honasan.

According to the news report, during the PRC event, Sen. Honasan was also there and as well as former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The Senator was also linked in the destabilization plots versus former Pres. Arroyo in year 2003 and 2006.
