Bar Topnotchers Eyed By Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña To Fight BDO
Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña offered bar topnotchers an amount of P50, 000 signing bonus to fight BDO, one of the biggest banks nationwide.
Bar topnotchers from USC and Siliman U received an offer from Mayor Osmeña of Cebu city to join the Mayor’s Management Team (MMT). The mayor also said that he would expose them to the management issues of the city.
Osmeña also discussed that the topnotchers would have a special disciple on analyzing the problem and how to resolve it. He also said that he can also show how to document it and make changes.
Tomas also posted on his Facebook account tapping the 2016 bar topnotchers in the case against branches of BDO in Cebu, whose business permit renewal has been denied due to alleged tax evasion.
He also offered P50, 000 signing bonus for the 2016 bar exam stars and start their law career in fighting BDO. “Nowhere else will you get the opportunity to start your law career fighting one of the biggest banks in the country,” said by Osmeña quoted by Sunstar.
In other hands, Solicitor General Jose Calida got 100 percent in criminal law in 1974 exams. He challenged Senator Leila De Lima to show her grades in criminal law and he will resign if the senator’s grade is higher than him.
De Lima only ranked 8th in the 1985 bar exams and her grades has still to be publicized. Meanwhile, Presiden Rodrigo Duterte didn’t make it to the Top 10 and he was the only lawyer-president who didn’t.
