Jaguar Land Rover PH Dealership Will Close Due To Tax Hike
Jaguar Land Rover Philippines will close its door for the dealership on Friday (May 05, 2017) due to the impending excise tax increase.
The rumors of the alleged closure of the premium distributor “Jaguar Land Rover” in the Philippines was already confirmed. Despite the closure of the company, their service center will remain open for warranty services.
The impending imposition of excise tax increase on the vehicle’s price was the main reason for the closure of Jaguar Land Rover, according to executive director Marc Soong. “With the coming excise tax we have no leg to stand on as we do not know how things will play out,” said by Soong quoted by Top Gear.
Welling Soong, the father of Marc and president of Jaguar Land Rover Philippines said that he will remain committed to their beloved clients and customers. He also said that being committed is a mark of a man with integrity.
Marc said that now he can have more time to focus on their Italian brands such as the Autostrada Motore, the Ferrari-Maserati dealership of the Soong Family.
New local owners will be handling the dealership of Jaguar F-Type or a Range Rover Evoque.
