A journalist from the news agency Philippine Daily Inquirer has returned the giveaways at 2017 ASEAN Summit due to this reason.

The Inquirer has now involved again in another issue after the heated debate between the supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte and the Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI). Previously, the president accused the news agency of being unfair on making reports about him.

The official Facebook page of Inquirer posted that one of their reporters has rejected the giveaways distributed at the ASEAN Summit. The news agency explained that their reporters are not allowed to accept cash gifts.
