12-Year-Old Student “Joshua Santiago” Receives Over 58 Medals During Graduation Day

A 12-year-old Filipino student named Joshua Santiago graduated from Mabiga Mabalacat Elementary School in Pampanga with a total of 58 medals.

Most students are working hard and doing their best just to receive achievements, honors, and medals. Receiving medals and honors can give joy and make the parents proud for the achievements of their children.

Joshua Santiago from Elementary at the Mabiga Mabalacat Elementary School in Mabalacat Pampanga seems so easy to get medals and stood out from the other graduates despite his young age.

58 Medals

Santiago uploaded a short video clip with a caption “Mas mabigat ngayon compare Last Year .. Hahhaha .. Happy Day .. Graduation Day.” And showing the moment upon receiving a roughly 58 medals. In the video, it can be seen that his mom and teachers were amazed and can’t help smiling over the awesome achievement of the student.

The 12-year-old student did not mention the medals he received last year. Many netizens were amazed and expressed their admiration for the elementary student. They also congratulate the boy for his awesome achievements.

Some netizens were questioning Santiago’s post, but his mother explained that his son received those numerous medals, because it was the tally of all the medals he received throughout the entire school year.

Santiago’s mother also said that the medals were given to his son, for being the Athlete of the Year, and recognition of his achievements. She also explained that the medals were unusually plenty, but the school decided to showcase and give all the medals during the graduation day.

The viral video has already garnered 1.6 million views, 44k reactions, more than 20k shares, and over 10k comments as of this post.

  1. In the begining of his journey in joining athletic meet when he was in grade 4, he tried to be a taekwondo fighters and he won gold in district or cluster level. His surrogate father and also a trainor wants him not to join again the said event which is taekwondo because of he cannot see him heat him by kicking and almost knocked out on the floor. He want his son to join the swimming lesson during summer vacation and wait the school(Mabiga Elem. School) to have another entry events. Fortunately, Mr. Jeffrey C. Flores a faculty member added another event to join in the coming athletic meet in October 2015. Mr. Gabalfin a surrogate father of Santiago approach me to talk about this event which is swimming and said ” what a great opportunity for me to have an event like this because it is the event that i loved most!” For the first time in the school in 2015 swimming event is officially added for those children who want to swim for their desire journey for their future. During that time Mr. Flores is the first coach of Joshua when he was in grade 5 fortunately he won different titles in the different invitational leage of different provinces and cities like Bataan, Bulacan, Baguio City, Zambales, and Angeles City. He won golds also from district level to division level, but in regional level he is a silver medalist during 2016.

    This year 2017, he continue his journey just to comply for his promise to go to “Palarong Pambansa 2017” and he got it. At present, he is battling for another medal for his school and family.
