Lots of passengers on that flight reacted on the action of the authorities towards the man. One passenger, Audra D. Bridges, took to the social media a video of the incident.

According to Audra’s husband, Tyler Bridges, the passengers who are willing to give their seats were offered $400, a hotel stay, and $800 vouchers. However, none gave up his or her seat.

Based on the report, Bridges expressed that a manager of the United Airlines then arrived and told the passengers that they would pick randomly. He added that they felt like they “were being taken hostage” and that there is nothing for them to do.

The spokesperson of United Airlines, Charlie Hobart, said that the fourth person who was named to leave the plane did not give his seat. The police officers were then called. The other three passengers who were named gave up their seats.

Speaking to the Associated Press in an interview, the United manager said that the procedures done were “right”. The CEO of the parent company of the United Airlines, Oscar Munoz, tagged the incident as “upsetting”.

Based on the report, he expressed that to resolve the situation, the airline is already communicating with the passenger. Speaking to the manager, the unidentified passenger claimed that he was a doctor according to Bridges.

The passenger added that he needs to check on his patients the following day.

According to Hobart, the employees are workers of Republic Airline which was hired by the United Airlines for the operation of the United Express flights. He added that the employees have to be in Kentucky or lack of employees may result to the cancellation of some of their flights.
