Julie Anne San Jose Denies Being GMA’s Sarah Geronimo: ‘Si Miss Sarah ay si Miss Sarah’

Julie Anne San Jose refuses the comparison that she is likely to be the Sarah Geronimo of the GMA network.

Julie Anne San Jose, honored to represent the Philippine music in a competition against international artists, brought home the victory when she won the Silver Global Sound or the 2nd place in the 2017 International Song Contest.

Julie Anne has gone to stardom the moment she bested other contestants in a talent search Popstar Kids on 2005.

Tidal Wave, her original composition, was her ticket to win against other international artists.

Lukas Graham, South Korean Duo Davichi and Singaporean singer JJ Lin together with G.E.M., who is a singer and a song writer at the same time in Hongkong, were the international artists the Asia’s Pop Sweetheart competed against.

In 2015, Sarah Geronimo with her song Kilometro won the 1st place for the 2015 International Song Contest. The reason why along Julie Anne’ victory she was tagged as the ‘Sarah Geronimo of GMA-7’.

Yet, according to the report of Pep, her response was, “Naku! Si Miss Sarah ay si Miss Sarah.”

She said that she is proud thinking that Sarah Geronimo is the first-ever Filipino who won in that prestigious international competition.

Based on the report of billboardPH, Peru got the 1st place with 501 points where the Temple Sour performed “Te Gusto (I Like You)” and followed by Julie Anne San Jose’s “Tidal Wave” with 500 points for the Philippines. The next placer Anna F. got 472 points in her song entitled “Too Far”. 

Julie Anne said that she is really honored to appear on the international but her triumph is unexpected.

She stated, “So I just feel really blessed na nabigyan po ng recognition yung song ko, saka it’s also nice na may na contribute na naman po ang mga Pilipino sa music kaya sobrang thankful po ako.”
