Breaking News: Victorio Luna, ABC President in Quezon Town Shot Dead

Victorio Luna, the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) president in Sariaya town in Quezon province was shot dead by a lone gunman on Friday, April 7, 2017.

Chief Insp. Javier Baasis, the deputy chief of Sariaya police told Inquirer.net that the chief of Barangay Castañas was killed at exactly 12:30 p.m.

He was leaving the village school after attending its commencement exercises when a gunman approached him and gunned him down.

The suspect fled on a motorcycle which was driven by his accomplice.

According to the statement of Baasis, the ABC president was shot by the gunman at close distance. The latter died while being taken by the rescuers to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, in a telephone interview Vice Mayor Alexander Tolentino described ABC President Victorio Luna as a noble man.

“We’ve been in constant contact but I’ve yet to know that he had enemies,” he said.

The authorities are still conducting a thorough investigation regarding the killing of the ABC president. On the other hand, the police is yet to issue a statement about the reason for killing.
