Graduand, Fresh Graduates Who Lived Inspiring Academic Journeys

Some graduand and fresh graduates did not just live their college lives the usual way.

GRADUAND – This 2017, lots of inspiring stories have again crossed the surface as determined individuals achieve the peak of their academic journey.

Graduation, although it is practically not the end for learning, is one of the peaks that most of us would surely desire to achieve. Most students look forward to that day when all their hard works will be paid off.

The sleepless nights studying, the hectic schedules to deal with, and the piled up deadlines are just some of those that make graduation really a sweet success.

However, to some people, their student duties were not only the factors that they have to deal with. They also have to be tougher than the barriers that challenge their determination to succeed in life.

Nevertheless, there are those who have proven that indeed, one can do what he or she desires as long as he or she is willing to do extra efforts to achieve it.

Some of them were Joyce Dublin who is about to graduate with a magna cum laude award and the fresh graduates Jireh Bautista and Jay Kummer Teberio.

Based on a recent report in ABS-CBN News, Joyce Dublin, a 30-year-old graduand  who is about to graduate as magna cum laude, was a former motorcycle driver. He has stopped schooling despite his desire to finish his studies as he has to help his family.

According to a report, Dublin was able to go back to school when a passenger of him offered to fund his education after commending his performance in school.

He enrolled at the Cebu Technological University-Daanbantayan Campus with a degree on Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics after he accepted the offer to him.

This month, Dublin will graduate and he has also received a full discount offer from a review center.

Based on another report from the same source, a son of a shoe repair man, 21-year-old Jireh Bautista, also experience another achievement in life as he graduated as a summa cum laude  in Cebu Institute of Technology – University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

According to the report, Bautista was able to help his family through the allowance that he receives every month from his scholarship grants. His secret in attaining exemplary grades in school are “diligence” and “prayer”.

Another fresh graduate who lived an inspiring academic journey is Jay Kummer ‘Dodoy’ Teberio or more commonly known as the ‘Tubig Queen”.

He used to sell bottled mineral water to be able to send himself to school and as well as to help his family based on a previous news report.

A real estate firm plans to give him a residential lot soon and he and his family also received an amount of money from the company of the brand of water that he has been selling when he was in college.

These three individuals are some of those who proved that barriers are not meant to trap a person rather meant to teach a person on how to climb out of it.
