Leni Supporter Could Land In Jail Over Alleged Threat To ‘Plant Bombs’ At Luneta On April 2

A supporter of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo allegedly posted a threat of planting bombs at the Luneta Park.

LENI – A supporter of Vice President Leni Robredo could land in jail for allegedly posting a threat that they are going to plant bombs at the Luneta Park on April 2, 2017.

An alleged post of a certain Lyn Ouvrier in Facebook has alarmed the online community. Recently, a Facebook page Khayri Woulfe for President posted a screen capture of a post of Ouvrier.

Based on the photo, Ouvrier stated that they are going to plant bombs at the Luneta Park on the 2nd day of April 2017. She expressed that it is a way of protecting the Vice President and destructing the rally of the supporters of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

According to the admin behind the Khayri Woulfe for President Facebook page, “Lyn Ouvrier is Willyn Trabajador in real life” and a supporter of Vice Pres. Robredo and Senator Leila De Lima.

In his Facebook account, former Department of Interior and Local Government Sec. Rafael Alunan III reacted on the post of Ouvrier and stated that it could land her in jail. Alunan tagged it as “stupid post” and cited the Presidential Decree No. 1727 in his Facebook post.

“Section 1. Any person who, by word of mouth or through the use of the mail, telephone, telegraph, printed materials and other instrument or means of communication, willfully makes any threat or maliciously conveys, communicates, transmits, imparts, p(–foul word(s) removed–) on, or otherwise disseminates false information, knowing the same to be false, concerning an attempt or alleged attempt being made to kill, injure, or intimidate any individual or unlawfully to damage or destroy any building, vehicle, or other real or personal property, by means of explosives, incendiary devices, and other destructive forces of similar nature or characteristics, shall upon conviction be punished with imprisonment of not more than five (5) years, or a fine or not more than forty thousand pesos (P40,000.00) or both at the discretion of the court having jurisdiction over the offense herein defined and penalized.”

According to the former Interior Secretary, in English, Trabajador is “laborer” and in French, it is “ouvrier”. Based on the post, the Facebook account of Ouvrier is now deactivated.

The post of Alunan has already reached more than six hundred shares on the social media. Lots of netizens also expressed their reactions to the post via comments.

According to two Facebook users, the National Bureau of Investigation Anti-Cybercrime Division must be able to trace it.

One netizen stated in her comment that it is a threat and should be taken “very seriously” while another netizen stated in her comment her view that it is way to discourage Pres. Duterte’s supporters.
