New Evidence Against De Lima Released By International Intelligence Sources

An International intelligence source has released new evidence against Senator Leila De Lima, which is not related to the charges filed against her.

On Tuesday (March 14, 2017), President Rodrigo Duterte told the senators during dinner that a foreign intelligence supplied new evidence against De Lima. He also said that the new evidence was not linked to the charges filed against the senator causing her detention.

Senator De Lima was detained in Camp Crame due to drug-related cases due to his alleged involvement in illegal drug proliferation inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP). But the senator was still denying the allegations against her and insisting her innocence.

New Evidence

Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito joined the dinner at Malacañang Park together with the other senators. Ejercito said that the president briefly discussed that De Lima was jailed due to drug-related charges.

“He only said the evidence against her (de Lima) was international intelligence-supplied. It’s not only the locals who supplied the intelligence report against de Lima,” said by Ejercito quoted by manila times.

Senators Juan Edgardo Angara, Nancy Binay, Alan Peter Cayetano, Sherwin Gatchalian, Richard Gordon, Loren Legarda, Emmanuel Pacquiao, Grace Poe, Joel Villanueva, Cynthia Villar and Juan Miguel Zubiri, President were Senate President Aquilino Pimentel 3rd, Senate President Pro-Tempore Ralph Recto, and Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III have joined the dinner with Mr. Duterte.

New Evidence

Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III said that there was nothing serious matters were discussed during the meeting. He also said that the purpose of the dinner was to get know Mr. Duterte better.

Zubiri also said that the president mentioned that he needed the support of his cabinet. He also said that it is normal for any president to ask support from the legislature.
