Sen. De Lima is now faced with allegations regarding her involvement in the supposed drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison during the time that she was the Secretary of the Department of Justice.

Dayan, also the Senator’s former lover as she has confirmed, is the alleged ‘bagman’ of the lady Senator. According to Sen. De Lima, her relationship with Dayan was over when she ran for a senatorial spot.

Reportedly, Sen. De Lima is one of the staunch critics of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s campaign against illegal drugs. There were even times when the lady Senator and the Chief Executive have exchanged intense statements before.

An international award was even given to the lady Senator for standing up against the 71-year-old President based on previous reports.

On the other side, other reports entail that Sen. De Lima is included in the President’s list of government officials who are alleged illegal drug protectors.
