Giant Sea Creature Found Dead By Residents Of Sarangani

Another giant sea creature weighing 500 kilograms and 12 ft. in length, was found dead in the coastal area of Kiamba Sarangani province.

Last month numerous appearance of different deep-sea creatures was spotted in different regions in the Philippines. Different speculations were spreading nationwide due to the appearance of strange sea creatures.

The appearance of oarfish in shallow water in different provinces was spotted before a magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck Surigao del Norte. Many people believed that the unusual appearance of oarfish was a sign of impending earthquake because it was followed by series of earthquakes.

Previously, a giant sea creature “Mola-Mola” was found in Dinagat Island and a strange sea mammal called “Megamouth Shark” was also found in the coastal area of Cebu. Various types of sea creatures were also found in different provinces in the country.

On Wednesday (March 01, 2017), residents of the coastal area of Barangay Kayupo in Kiamba, Sarangani found a dying ‘Dugong” or “Sea Cow.” The adult dugong was stranded in the area and the residents tried to save the sea mammal, but they have failed and the sea creature died.

The sea cow might possibly hit the reefs and fishing nets causing his death, according to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). BFAR gets a blood sample from the sea mammal for series of tests and to determine the cause of death.

Sea cow is a marine herbivorous mammal, which belongs to one of the world’s endangered species. This type of sea creatures can be usually found in North Pacific Ocean.
