Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) released a drone video that shows the damaged after the powerful earthquake that hit Surigao City.

A powerful Earthquake hit Surigao City on February 10, 2017, leaving thousands of victims hurt. The earthquake left properties, roads, and infrastructure damaged.

While the residents are recovering with the natural calamity, a number of deep sea creatures were found and made rounds on social media.

Some of the netizens were frightened after the sightings were linked to some predictions that reveal calamity is about to hit again the city.

Many believed that another earthquake is soon to ravage areas in the Philippines because of a buzz that circulated on social media networks.

In a recent news report of ABS-CBN news, The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) on Monday released a video that showed the damage sustained by Surigao del Norte after the earthquake.

The video shows that the powerful quake left the roads, several buildings, bridges and other infrastructures damaged.

The video is the collection of drone footage of ruptured terrains, cracked rice paddies and landslides in the villages of Macopa, Honrado, and San Francisco.

It also showed the aerial shots of a damaged of school buildings and the Anao-aon bridge in Poblacion village in San Francisco.

It can be seen on the video that the magnitude temblor damaged large parts of the city, with buildings and roads either cracked or collapse.

According to some reports, the quake also damaged 12 schools, 6 bridges and other business establishments such as shopping malls and hotels.

The nearly 4-minute video has caught the attention of the netizens on social media.

Some of the netizens claimed that Surigao is a reminder for everyone. Other social media users revealed that experts the have been warning the vastly bigger area of Metro Manila for the upcoming disaster which they called the “Big one.”
