Many Filipino fans of Miss Universe pageant took to social media and express their reactions on the answer of Maxine Medina during the Q&A portion.
The Philippines bet Maxine Medina was announced by Steve Harvey as among the top thirteen candidates that have a chance to move on at the top nine of the 65th Miss Universe and is still in the running to win the crown of the prestigious pageant.
An endless screaming and cheering for Miss Philippines as she was the last contestant to be called among the top 13 candidates. Maxine Medina landed on the top 6 of the Miss Universe competition.
Medina was the first candidate to be called in the much-awaited question-and-answer portion of the 65th Miss Universe pageant.
Miss Philippines was asked by Steve Harvey: “What is the most significant change you’ve seen in the world in the last 10 years?”
Filipinos were in great surprised that the Pinay beauty queen has an interpreter to translate the question to Filipino. But Medina chose to answer it using the English language.
“In the last 10 years of being here in the world, I saw all the people bringing in one event like this in Miss Universe. It’s something big to us that we are one. As one nation, we are all together. Thank you. Maraming salamat po,” she said.
Maxine Medina failed to make it to the Top 3 of the pageant and it ended her Miss Universe journey.
Many Filipino netizens took to social media to express their disappointment on the performance of the Maxine Medina. She became the center of the controversy after she failed to be in the top three finalists because of her answer to the question and answer portion of the competition.
