Mamasapano Massacre Inconsistencies Cited By President Duterte In The Re-Opening Of The Case
President Rodrigo Duterte cited numerous inconsistencies for the new investigation in the re-opening of the Mamasapano massacre.
During the president’s speech with the relative of the SAF44, he announced the re-opening of the questionable Mamasapano massacre. Duterte questioned the previous government for sending SAF44 instead of the army during the Mamasapano incident.
Duterte also mentioned that former President Benigno Aquino III left his office without resolving the issue. He also questioned why did Aquino administration including Mar Roxas hide the operation from the military that was supposed to operate by Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
The president also doubts and asked where did the reward money worth $5 million for Maruan go? Duterte also was annoyed by Aquino’s demeanor upon discovering the deaths of SAF 44 and he also questioned why Aquino only gives 2 medals of valor while 44 members of SAF died during the operation.
He also said that Aquino was hindered by Deles to order the military to send help for SAF44, which is currently performing the operation. Former President Aquino should explain a lot of things and he needs to confess his sins and mistakes to the nation, according to President Duterte.
The president decided to create a new commission that will investigate that Mamasapano Case. It will focus on the time that Aquino hatched the SAF44 to the operation and Americans were also involved in the investigation because the operation was an American adventure.
Duterte also instructed PNP Chief Bato Dela Rosa to give medals of valor to all members of SAF44 heroes and will provide benefits for their families. He also promised to assign a day of remembrance for the death of the 44 heroes.
