65th Miss Universe candidates have the chance to meet and the take some photos with the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday afternoon.

In a recent news report of GMA news, the Candidates arrived at the Malacañang Palace on Monday afternoon to pay a courtesy call on President Rodrigo Duterte.

After more than 10 years, the Philippines is hosting the prestigious pageant again and we’re more than willing to put our best foot forward.

The candidates of the participating countries for the Miss Universe competition are now in the Palace for their courtesy call to the Chief Executive.

The ladies were given the chance to visit the President in the palace. They reportedly listened to the President as he spoke and are taking photos with him.

In his speech, President Duterte thanked the Miss Universe organization for letting the Philippines host the event. Duterte said that the prestigious event brings pride to the country and to the Filipinos.

President Duterte also reminded the candidates from 86 countries in the world that the beauty pageant is an opportunity for them to make an impact.

“It is a chance for you to make an impact, inspire change, and even be the change that you wish to see in the world,” the President said.

Furthermore, the President also said that it is a great honor to showcase to the world the most beautiful destinations in the country, including the rich culture and the history of the Philippines.

The 65th Miss Universe pageant will be held on January 30 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
