Types Of Chocolates That Are Suitable For Diabetics And For You
There are certain types of chocolates that have beneficial effects that can regulate blood pressure, prevents diabetes, and relieves stress.
Chocolates are one of the so-called “comfort food products” which they eat whenever they are stressed. Too much consumption of jumbo chocolate bars in one sitting can trigger high blood pressure but eating a small amount of it per a day may help us to prevent diabetes and other diseases.
This statement was based on the result of the study shown by the researchers of the University of South Australia, University of Maine, and Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), at University of Warwick Medical School.
Cardiovascular diseases and diabetes can be triggered by consuming 100 grams of chocolate on a daily basis because it reduces the insulin resistance, according to the researchers.
Chocolate contains a substance called “Polyphenol” which has beneficial effects on the heart’s arteries, body metabolism and increase the production of nitric oxide, which can widen our blood vessels and improve the blood flow in the arteries.
Medical science explained that atherosclerosis or narrowing of arteries can be slow down by polyphenols. It can also improve the endothelial function and prevent blood clots in our arteries.
Cocoa based products can improve our cardio-metabolic health. In fact, it is not a sinful delight but it is also recommended to add in our diet, according to Professor Saverio Stranges of the University of Warwick Medical School and Scientific Director of the Department of Population Health at LIH.
Stranges refers to the natural cocoa products and not the sweet or the processed products. Chocolates can prevent stroke, heart diseases, and other cardiovascular diseases, according to some previous studies.
Dr. Adriana Buitrago-Lopez of the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom explained that overconsumption of chocolates has harmful effects on the body. It should be consumed in moderation.
