Chinese Media Called President Duterte A ‘Wise Man’, Because Of His Strong Leadership
President Rodrigo Duterte was called by Chinese media as a ‘Wise Man’, due to his strong personality and leadership in the Philippines.
Wang Xiaohui, a TV broadcaster in China Mosaic (Media in China) has called Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte as “Wise Man.” He made that statement due to the numerous issues and controversies facing by Duterte right now because of his war on drugs.
Xiaohui has mentioned Duterte’s series of tirades against U.S President Barack Obama. Duterte’s declaration of cutting the military and economic ties between the United States and The Philippines was also cited by the Chinese media.
The president was also called as a wise man due to his strategic plan for having an agreement and negotiation with China on the heated argument over the South China Sea. The president’s state visit to China has greatly improved the ties between the two countries.
Duterte’s anti-illegal drug campaign becomes one of the most discussed topics all over the world. His war on drugs amid Extrajudicial Killings (EJK) raise the concern of different international sectors such as international human rights groups, European Union (EU) and U.S.
It was followed by Duterte’s declaration that the Philippines will pursue independent foreign policy. The president also strengthened the relationship between the Philippines with other foreign countries by having a state visit.

The Philippine president has been accompanied by over 250 top Philippine businessmen with the purpose of seeking cooperation with China in building infrastructures. China and the Philippines are complimentary in a wide range of economic sectors such tourism, railway, agriculture, electricity, and manufacturing.
“Although Duterte’s comments sometimes sound erratic, but if you reflect on it, he is a wise man,” said by Xiaohui quoted by Balitang Pinas. The broadcaster also mentioned the president’s statement that his grandfather is Chinese and only China can help the country. Duterte only wants that the Philippines could achieve its goals with the help of China through their money, technology, influence, and resistance.
