DOLE Announced Europe Will Be Hiring About 22, 000 Filipino Nurses
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that Europe offers 22, 000 jobs with large salaries for licensed Filipino nurses.
Europe will be needing 22, 000 licensed nurses and all those positions were reserved for Filipinos. Most of our local nurses and new graduates who were seeking for a job was glad about the high-paying salary jobs.
Joe Rey Dayahan, VP for nursing services, Adventist Medical Center said that majority of Filipino nurses aims to secure a stable job or even work abroad just to provide and sustain the financial needs of their families.
Based on the initial discussion with European recruiter, Filipino nurses will be paid a basic salary amount of P150, 000 per month with additional benefits, according to. Labor Undersecretary Dominador Say.
Say also explained that 6 months after the arrival of Filipino nurses they can convert their working VISA into immigrant status. Then after an additional 6 months, Filipino nurses can already bring their family abroad.
The applicants must be licensed nurses and must know how to speak German. 22, 000 Filipino nurses who will leave the country and work in Europe does not have a big impact on the manpower of hospital personnel.
Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Ubial admits that the public health sector lacks 21, 000 nurses and health professionals but Ubial said that even thousands would leave the country, it won’t be a big problem because the Philippines has an oversupply of nursing graduates. The Philippines is also hiring as Ubial urged.
Ubial said that Pinoy nurses and health professionals would rather stay in the country only if they are only paid reasonably. DOLE officials will go to Germany in March to finalize the details on the hiring of nurses.
Working abroad seems so attractive for the Filipino nurses but the Department of Health (DOH) says that there’s nothing to worry about for now as they tried to improve the salary and benefit packages for health professionals here in the Philippines.
