NETIZENS – Sen. Leila De Lima’s message to the Filipino people for the Rizal Day has elicited lots of different reactions from the netizens.

Undeniably, Sen. De Lima is one of the most prominent politicians in the Philippines nowadays as she has been on several news headlines in the previous months.

The lady senator who is a former secretary of the Department of Justice is a staunch critic of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She and the 71-year-old Chief Executive have thrown tirades against each other in the previous months.

Reportedly, it was Pres. Duterte who exposed the allegation about the relationship of Sen. De Lima with her former driver and bodyguard, Ronnie Dayan.

The 71-year-old Chief Executive claimed that the Senator’s affair with Dayan sparked the corruption inside the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP).

It took quite a while before the lady senator admitted that she had a relationship with Dayan before as stated in a previous news report.

Recently, the message of the lady senator to the people for the Rizal Day has been posted on the social media. Many netizens have dropped their reactions on her message.

Posted on the Facebook page Leila De Lima, the photo of the letter entails an encouragement to the people to ponder on the lesson left behind by the National Hero.

In her message, the Senator cited the path of Dr. Jose Rizal who was killed for his love of the country as she has stated.

The lady senator also emphasized that we, the people now who are experiencing the chance to be on our own and the freedom which is the fruit of the sacrifices of our heroes, have the responsibility to take care of the nation.

Sen. De Lima emphasized in her message that while there are people who are blinded from the truth and many are silencing themselves, the fear and abuse will be on top.

She stated an encouragement to everyone to fight for the freedom that was not experienced by the people who were ahead of us.

In less than three hours since it was posted, the post has already garnered 68 shares as of Friday. Many netizens have also dropped their reactions on the message of the Senator.
