House Speaker Alvarez wants the ‘Goldberg Blueprint’ to remove Pres. Duterte from office to be investigated.
ALVAREZ – House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez spoke on the issue regarding the ‘Goldberg blueprint’ to remove Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte from office.
On Tuesday, a daily broadsheet contained the report about the supposed blueprint written by former United States Ambassador to Philippines Philip Goldberg regarding the plan to oust Pres. Duterte.
Recently, according to a news report in GMA News Online, House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez told dzBB that its source should be investigated. In the radio interview, Alvarez emphasized that it is not a good news.
“Kailangan alamin natin ang puno’t dulo niyan [We need to know the source and the end of it.],” the House Speaker said.
Furthermore, he stressed that if the issue is true, it is not good as it is violating the sovereignty of a free country. The House Speaker also stated that this coming January, he plans to have the issue investigated by the Congress.
Speaker Alvarez emphasized that there is really a need to know further about the issue at hand and it is hard to let it just pass.
The plenary session of the House of Representatives will resume on the 16th of January after it has held its last session for 2016 on the 16th of December according to the news report.
The report also entailed that in another statement, the House Speaker emphasized that effects on the political stability and the country’s social and economic fabric lie behind the alleged blueprint to oust the President.
Speaker Alvarez stressed that for the government of the United States to plot any plan to oust the Philippine President is not good most especially that high approval ratings are continuously given to Pres. Duterte.
The Declaration on the Inadmissibility of Intervention in the Domestic Affairs of States is violated by the U.S. if the supposed blueprint to oust Pres. Duterte is affirmed to be true according to Alvarez.
Alvarez is the current House Speaker of the House of Representatives. In the previous months, intense statements between him and Sen. Leila De Lima were contents of some news report.
Based on a previous news report, it is stated that House Speaker Alvarez even described the lady senator as a ‘self-proclaimed righteous person’ and tagged her as a woman ‘pretending to be clean’ after Sen. De Lima absolutely put down the allegations of her involvement in the drug trade.
