NETIZEN – Krizette Laureta Chu’s Facebook post over the presidency of Pres. Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte went viral on social media.
Pres. Duterte, the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines, is already 71-years-old when he secured the highest position in the country. Nevertheless, his age has not hindered his victory.
Way back in the 2016 election campaign, his name was undeniably one of the loudest names that have hooked a lot of Filipinos. Many people love the former mayor of Davao City who had served Davao for more than two decades and hope that he can really bring ‘change’ to the country.
The 71-year-old tough-talking man went out as the victor in the 2016 presidential race. He led the race with other four strong presidential bets – Sen. Grace Poe, former Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay, former Interior Sec. Mar Roxas, and the late Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
Since the election campaign, the 71-year-old chief executive has been very vocal on how much he hates illegal drugs and corruption. He has even promised the people to clean the country from the presence of illegal drugs.
Pres. Duterte’s strong campaign against illegal drugs has really uncovered the reality in the Philippines. Many drug laboratories were then found out by the authorities.
After Pres. Duterte’s brave warnings, many illegal drugs users and pushers have surrendered to the authorities. The Duterte Administration has assured to help the drug patients in their reformation – drug facilities were already facilitated in some parts of the country.
However, just like the coin having two sides, the President himself has a lot of critics too. There were people who criticize his campaign against illegal drugs. Furthermore, there are those who don’t like the tough-talking behavior of the 71-year-old Chief Executive.
Nevertheless, based on a previous news report, the majority of the Filipino people have much trust on Pres. Duterte.
Recently, a post went viral on social media after a netizen posted about his presidency. The post was entitled ‘Man with a Mission’ wherein it entailed that Pres. Duterte is really destined to secure the highest post.
The post of Krizette Laureta Chu in her Facebook account emphasized that the presidency is a ‘destiny’. A person can never be trained, groomed, or prepared for it.
The post even mentioned the name of Mar Roxas and stressed that ‘no matter how much he planned for it or schemed for it’ still he was not destined to become the 16th President of the Philippines.
It also mentioned about former Vice Pres. Binay who had ‘decades-long preparation’ but share the same fate with Roxas.
“Destiny gave the business of governing a splintered, struggling country into the hands of a 71-year-old, highly reluctant, tough-talking man from the country’s most neglected archipelago,” the post stated.
Furthermore, the post stressed that Pres. Duterte is the ‘right man coming out at just the right time’ after it cited the number of votes that he garnered during the 2016 presidential election.
“Change is definitely coming, and it is nowhere more evident in the 2017 budget, one that the President said puts ‘the Filipino in the center,'” the post stated.
The post of Chu ended with an emphasis that change has come, the destiny has ‘willed it, and that a punishment awaits for those who fights against the destiny. In just twelve hours, the post has hooked the online community and has even reached 169 shares.
