The snatching incident happened in a busy street of Manila.
The video shows that the was using her phone while sitting near the entrance of the jeepney. A few seconds later, an unidentified man came out from nowhere.
He ca be seen walking on the road behind the female passenger in a calm and relaxed manner.
He was observing the girl and snatches away the phone through the open window of the jeepney.
He was successful to steal the phone and ran away as fast as he could.
The female victim can be seen on the video look on while screaming but she never tried to catch the suspect.
According to the report of Kami, the netizen who shared the video narrated the incident in his Facebook post by saying, the bystanders did nothing to apprehend the snatcher.
As I was driving with my dashboard camera on, I noticed a young guy lurking around in the streets… He found his next victim, a young vulnerable female boarding a jeepney… Bystanders were shocked and weren’t able to help as if nothing happens,” the netizen narrated.
The video caught the attention of the online community. Many net6iezns urged other Filipino commuters to avoid using their phone or displaying their jewelry when riding jeepneys, buses, trains and pedicabs.
