Recently, rumored plot of impeachments towards certain officials is one of the issues being tackled on the headlines. It could be linked to the numerous political matters that are on the surface as of the present.

In a recent news report in Inquirer, it entailed that Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales stands firm and is ready to face those who are ‘plotting’ to remove her from office.

The rumors of plots to oust Ombudsman Morales came in the midst of the alleged displeasure of the Administration on the way she handled certain cases according to the report.

Furthermore, these include the probe that she has launched on the trip of Philippine National Police Chief Dir. Gen. Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa to Las Vegas. An open letter to Ombudsman Morales has even circulated in the social media regarding the probe based on a previous news report.

Speaking at the Meet the Inquirer Multimedia forum, Ombudsman Morales emphasized the freedom of those who want to oust her as she said, “If they wish to impeach me, go on, baby. They’re free to do that.”

Furthermore, the Ombudsman also expressed that those who ‘intend’ to scare her will only be ‘disappointed’.

As of the present, the country’s chief graft-buster is on her fifth year in her seven-year term. It was former Pres. Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III who appointed her as the Ombudsman. Her term as the Ombudsman would end in July 2018.

The 75-year-old Ombudsman is the aunt-in-law of the presidential daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. The report entailed that the chief graft-buster has recently made an announcement that she will restrain herself from cases involving Pres. Duterte.
