Vice President Robredo said that she is ready to fight the things that she believed in.
Vice President Robredo revealed her opposition to Duterte policies that went beyond political parties was only meant to make the president listen.
Robredo said that she wants to be the opposition’s voice to make the Philippine president listen.
She was very determined to lead a campaign against President Duterte’s war on drugs in the country.
In an interview at her office in Manila’s Quezon City, Leni Robredo said to Reuters that she don’t believe that the President no plot to oust her.
“There are so many of us against the policies of the president. I hope I will be able to portray the role of unifying all the discordant voices,” Robredo said.
Robredo was known for being openly critical of Duterte’s war on drugs and his plans to reimpose the death penalty.
She also warned the people about Duterte’s war on drugs was having a “chilling effect” on the public and was already scary.
In a recent news of ABS-CBN news, the Vice President wants to be opposition’s voice to make Duterte listen.
However, she said her opposition to his policies went beyond political parties and was only meant to “make the president listen”.
“It is not as if we are against the war on drugs. We do agree with the president that it has reached a level that the government must really do something about it, but doing it this way will only make the problem more complex,” Robredo clarified.
Vice President Leni Robredo hands in her letter of resignation as the Chairperson of Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) on Monday, December 5.
She resigned by citing a plot to remove her from the vice presidency after she was barred from attending regular cabinet meetings.
