Vice Pres. Robredo is determined to stay as the Vice President of the Philippines.
ROBREDO – Vice Pres. Leni Robredo assured her supporters that she would not let anybody ‘steal the vice presidency’ from her.
Previous news reports entailed the stepping down of Vice Pres. Robredo from her post in the Cabinet of Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte. The Vice President resigned from her post as the chairperson of Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council’s after a text message has reached her.
On the text message which allegedly came from Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco Jr., it stated that the President asks the Vice President to “desist from attending all Cabinet meetings” starting Monday.
Vice Pres. Robredo then decided to resign from her post. Based on a previous news report, she took to social media the list of her accomplishments as the chairperson of HUDCC. She highlighted her efforts on cutting the red tape and providing roofs for the homeless families.
Furthermore, she emphasized the efforts to help the victims of the typhoon Yolanda. In another report, it is stated that the Vice President assured that her office will keep on being relevant despite that she is no longer part of the Cabinet.
Recently, a news report in Inquirer stated that Vice President Robredo has resigned as the HUDCC chairperson but will stay as the Vice President and won’t let anyone ‘steal the vice presidency’ from her.
In a televised speech, Vice Pres. Robredo said, “This is not a time for fear. It is a time for conviction. It is a time for courage.”
The report also made an emphasis that the Vice President told Pres. Duterte in a resignation letter sent to the Palace that she exerted efforts on setting aside their differences and keeping a ‘professional working relationship’.
Vice Pres. Robredo assured the people who support her that she would not let anybody to take away the vice presidency from her according to the report.
