Alvarez Proposes Malacañang, Gov’t Offices Transferred To Negros Island

Negros Occidental Gov. Marañon spoke on Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez’s proposal in transferring Malacañang.

Malacañang – Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. spoke on the proposal of Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez to move the Palace and other government offices in Negros Island.

The move to decongest Metro Manila is a concern of the present administration, the Duterte Admin. The plan to move the government offices and the Malacañang is currently on the surface to decongest Metro Manila.

Recently, a report entailed that due to the proximity of the Clark Freeport Zone in Angeles City to Metro Manila, it is the preferred relocation place for the Palace and other government offices.

Furthermore, the plan to move it to Clark is also in consideration of choosing a place that is near to Metro Manila as most employees of the government are living in Metro Manila and most offices are located there.
