Oceanographic Instrument Recovered By Filipino Fishermen Near Scarborough Shoal

Filipino fishermen in Zambales found an oceanographic instrument with the mark “National Oceanographic Office, USA,” while fishing near Panatag Shoal.

On Friday (November 11, 2016), a device for measuring water properties owned by United States was found by three fishermen in the West Philippine Sea, according to the report of Zambales Police Provincial Office, Chief Inspector Jude Bryan Maguddayao of Masinloc town police.

The fishermen were identified as Joseph Asuque, 28, Reynaldo Mendoza, 30, and Galley Godornes, 30. The device was found by those fishermen while they are fishing and brought to the coastal village of Barangay Inhobol.

Oceanographic Instrument

It was the second device that was found near the disputed Island and now it was currently under the custody of custody of the provincial police in Camp Conrado Yap in Iba, Zambales.
