Jodi Sta. Maria has finally admitted to the public that she was once addicted to illegal drugs.
Jodi Sta. Maria has recently shared her painful past after her separation from Pampi Lacson.
The Kapamilya actress admitted that the pain of the broken marriage had led her to be dependent on alcohol and drugs before turning into a workaholic.
According to a report of Cebu Daily News, Jodi spoke during “The Perfect Love Conference” held last October at the Convention Hall of J. Centre Mall in Mandaue City. Wherein she shared her painful past.
“My life was such a mess na hindi ko alam kung saan ako magsisimula. Wala nang magmamahal sa akin kasi separada na ako, segunda mano,” she said, recalling how she felt when she filed for an annulment.
“Before becoming a workaholic, I became an alcoholic. I drank day and night. I even drank during tapings, ang gusto ko kasi masolusyunan ‘yung feeling ko of pain and emptiness. When alcohol wasn’t enough, I turned to drugs. I felt empty. I pretended to be okay when the truth is hindi naman talaga. I was in and out of bad relationships that left me all the more wounded and broken,” she added.
