President Duterte was welcomed by the Chinese officials. The state visit was meant to rekindle bilateral ties with China.
President Rodrigo Duterte will be attending a business forum on Thursday. Many Filipinos were expecting to the president to bring in more foreign direct investment in the country.

The reports said that about 450 businessmen from the Philippines and at least 400 businessmen from China are attending a business forum with the president on Thursday.
Furthermore, Duterte is expected to meet top Chinese leaders—President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang, and National People’s Congress Chairman Zhang Dejiang—on Thursday.
