Puerto Princesa Hanging Library mainly built to educate the indigenous people.
According to a report of ABS-CBN news, the Department of Education Puerto Princesa (City DepEd), in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati Olympia, launched the ‘Hanging Library’, also tagged as “Cocoon of Knowledge”, on Sunday, October 2 at Sittio Tuod, Bgy. Montible.
The unique library was constructed to cater the Indigenous people in the city. Reports said that the said library was made to mainly benefit members of the Tagbanua tribe.
It will serve also as a classroom for the Indigenous people, out-of-school youth (OSY) and other students of Alternative Learning System (ALS) in the area, all with ages ranging from 12 to 62 years old.
