Gordon And De Lima’s Clash During The EJK Hearing
Senators Leila De Lima and Richard Gordon clashed again on the EJK hearing at the Senate committee on justice and human rights regarding Duterte’s bloody war on drugs.
Earlier, Senator Gordon was criticized by Roberto Cadiz, commissioner in Commission on Human Rights (CHR), who called him a “coward” during the discussion of capital punishment bill in the same hearing. De Lima let Gascon speak and explain CHR’s side that causes the tension.
Gordon also said that was not demanding an apology because CHR chairman, Chito Gascon had already apologized to him for the distasteful remarks of Cadiz. He also said that he suspend the hearing, not the inquiry.
The remarks of Cadiz did not reflect the CHR en banc. Position explained by CHR chairman, Gascon, according to Gordon. He also said that he was satisfied with Gascon’s apology. The discussion of proposed imposition of capital punishment for drug cases wants to suspend by De Lima but Richard answered her.
