Gordon Says, “Noisy Duterte Falls On His Own Sword”

Senator Gordon said that as a president, Duterte has a duty to be a “statesman” because he reflects the whole Philippines.

Senator Richard Gordon could not help but comment on the way President Rodrigo Duterte speaks, which oftentimes becomes controversial.

Gordon, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights, made his comments in the middle of the conduct of the inquiry on extrajudicial killings since Duterte stepped into presidency.

There was no stopping for Sen. Gordon when he said that Pres. Duterte falls “on his own sword” because of the way he speaks.

The lawmaker particularly pointed out the chief executive’s favorite set of word, “I will kill you”, which he often told to drug lords and personalities involved in the illegal drug trade.

According to Gordon, “that is not right”.

“He is falling on his own sword. Nadadapa siya sa kanyang espada. Well. Salita siya nang alita, napagbibintangan tuloy ang buong bansa na ganyang ang nangyayari”, said Senator Gordon in the public hearing at Senate on Monday.

(He is falling on his own sword. Well, he keeps on talking and talking, making an impression that it is actually happening in the entire country.)
