NEDA’s Approval Necessary For P52.20-B Regional Project

NEDA’s approval necessary for the P52.20 billion the regional project of the government for six years under President Duterte’s administration.

On Sunday (October 02, 2016), the government announced that the P52.20 billion budget needed the approval of the Board of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) for the presented six regional projects, in line with the government’s effort to increase the infrastructure projects.

“These projects will ensure the realization of the Duterte administration’s goal to reduce poverty and inequality by focusing on regional, rural, and agricultural development,” said by Ernesto M. Pernia, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary in his emailed statement.

ICC-CabCom or Investment Coordination Committee-Cabinet Committee approved the six regional projects such as:

  • P9.20-billion, 25-hectare NCICP Project is proposed to be built in the Municipality of Consolacion in Cebu, which will decongest the existing Cebu International Port
  • P601.9-million scaling-up of the CHARMP2 to add 18 barangays to cover an additional 9,055 household beneficiaries from Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province
  • P21.0-billion expansion of the PRDP to add more farm-to-market roads, market roads, and bridges, and communal irrigation systems, among others
  • P5.4-billion MMIP-II to increase the design area to cover the construction of three major service areas
