Heart Of St. Padre Pio Displayed Outside Italy For The First Time

For the first time, the heart of St. Padre Pio was displayed outside of Italy.

Hundreds of faithfuls came to a church in Massachusetts to have a glimpse of the heart of the celebrated Roman Catholic saint, St. Padre Pio, which is encased in a glass.

St. Padre Pio’s heart left its home in Italy for the first time and left for the United States for the churchgoers in Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell to feel closer to God.

People lined up between the pews, holding their cameras and rosaries, waiting to see the heart of St. Padre Pio, and lucky enough, touch and kiss the relic.

One of the devotees who did not want to miss the once-in-a-lifetime oppportunity was Janet Black from Charlestown.

According to Black, “I’m all full of emotions. It’s just beautiful that people could come together for one purpose. If the world was like this, we’d have no problems”.

Padre Pio died in 1968 and became a saint only in 2002.
