Emergency Power Hearing Delays Due To Lack of Plan To Solve Traffic
Emergency power hearing delays due to lack of a plan to solve the traffic crisis here in the Philippines according to Grace Poe.
The proposal to grant the emergency powers to President Rodrigo Duterte was supposed to be scheduled on Tuesday (August 30, 2016). The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will still need to submit a plan regarding how to resolve the traffic crisis in the country.
“The Executive branch is in a hurry to pass the emergency powers bill, but based on our hearings, we have learned that the DOTr and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority have yet to come up with concrete projects under the emergency powers bill,” said by Grace Poe quoted by GMA.
“How can we make an effective and comprehensive plan if we don’t consult the affected sector? I hope that we’re not wasting time and money for implementing the plan that cannot be avail by the public,” she added.
