Marawi Jailbreak Will Be Investigated By PNP Due to Security Lapses
Marawi jailbreak will be investigated by PNP – Philippine National Police after 23 detainees were able to escape in prison because of security lapses.
Eight detainees were rescued by Maute Group that attacked the Marawi jail on Saturday (August 27, 2016) afternoon. It is also the cause why other inmates were able to escape.
“We will look into that kasi mukhang planado. Hindi nabigyan ng precautionary measures to prevent it so let us allow the lower unit to be able to do their investigation and then make a recommendation,” said by PNP spokesperson Senior Supt Dionardo Carlos quoted by GMA.
Maute Group attacked the Marawi jail according to Carlos the PNP did not receive any information or threat against the attack. He said that on the part of PNP if only they were warned or alerted they will provide necessary security force to give additional security to the jail facilities of the province.
