Pres. Duterte affirmed that someday he wants to give the Palace a new name.
NEW NAME – Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte confirmed that he wants to rename the Malacañang Palace as he said that the name was given by foreign colonizers.
The official residence of the President of the Philippines is the Malacañang Palace or otherwise known as the White House. For decades, it has served as the abode of the highest chiefs in the country and has always been called as Malacañang.
In a recent news report in Inquirer, it entails a fair hope that there is a possibility that the Palace will soon have its new name.
Based on the news report, Pres. Rodrigo Duterte expressed that he wanted to give the Palace a new name as he said, “One day I will rename it ‘People’s Palace.”
