Maynilad Water Services Inc. Announced Expect Law Water Supply
Maynilad announced that the low water supply will still continue due to high turbidity level. Ipo Dam still contains higher levels of sediments in their raw waters so low supply is expected.
On Monday (August 15, 2016) at 5:00 a.m. Maynilad Spokesperson Grace Laxa said that there’s an improvement on their raw water, but it doesn’t mean that the normal water supply will resume. We’re doing our best to assure that our water is safe to use.
Raw waters from Ipo Dam contain high turbidity level so the water company cut down the 66 percent of water output. Soil erosion produces sediments in the dam’s water that reflects the turbidity level.
Laxa said that in continuous heavy rain the water from the mountains that brings soil erosion goes to the reservoir that causes the increase of the sediments in water.
