Red Alert Raised in La Mesa Dam Evacuation Recommended
Red Alert was raised in La Mesa Dam On Saturday (August 13, 2016). Along the Tullahan River residents in Quezon City was suggested to evacuate temporarily on the area due to water level rises.
The water elevation at the dam reached to 79.62 meters, just 53 centimeters left to overflow level according to Teddy Angeles manager of La Mesa plant. 80.15 meters is the overflow level of La Mesa Dam.
In a text message of Angeles he “Recommend evacuation”. On dzBB radio Mayor Herbert Bautista Mayor of Quezon City advised the residents of barangays along Tulahan River to leave their place temporarily going to boundary of Bagbag and Baesa.
The evacuation site was already prepared since Friday (August 12, 2016). Bautista said that 143 barangay in the city were on the red alert so Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Team must prepare.
