Lifestyle checks is one essential move in government agencies. The Bureau of Internal Revenue is currently having it on its employees.
In line with the campaign to eradicate corruption in the government agency, Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay of BIR opted for lifestyle checking on the personnel of BIR. Not only the personnel, but as well as the officers were checked on their way of living.
The Commissioner has also warned those officers who have issues and even gave them three choices as reported in Phil Star Global.
The BIR Commissioner gave the BIR personnel three choices in cases that they are abusing their duties. These choices were: resign, retire, or face dismissal.
Another move that the BIR Commissioner has considered is the prohibition of gifts inside the biggest tax-collection agency in the Philippines. According to the report, the Commissioner opted for a ‘no-gift policy’ inside the government agency.
