Ruling of the international order Is compared to a basket ball game. Philippines is now moving on the third quarter of the game called “Game of the Diplomats”.
It’s already given that China wont recognize the ruling regarding for the West Philippine Sea.
The Philippines is now taking some steps on how to enforce the ruling. Since China rejected the Arbitral Tribunal of the United Nation, it is believed that other international countries will pressure Beijing to abide the international order.
According to the interview, China is open for a one-on-one interview to settle the dispute in the West Philippine Sea. The United Nation creates some space for future negotiation to resolve the Territorial dispute.
The purely legal phase of the entire controversy is now taking the whole world by storm.
Philippines is now moving for the “Game of Diplomats.”
According a Former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay, who succeeded Jardeleza, said to an interview, he compared the dispute to a basketball game. Just like the game, the arbitration will take some time.
Everything that happened before the arbitration case, which was filed in January 2013, can be compared to the first quarter of a basketball game. The second quarter,” Hilbay said, “is the arbitration proceedings and were are now moving on the game of the diplomats.
The goal of the said proceedings is not to violence but to have a diplomatic solutions to the complicated problem.
Enforcement is a problem because Beijing refuses to recognize the ruling. China, too, continues to block Filipinos from fishing in the areas that they claimed they owned.
Hilbay announced to an interview that if the lawyers’ job was “to deliver a legal advantage” for the Philippines, “the game of the diplomats will be very different” as it will likely happen behind closed doors. The objective of the game is that the Philippines will be able to effectively assert its maritime entitlements in the South China Sea/West Philippine Sea.
