Celebrity Winners & Losers in 2016 National Elections

The 2016 National and Local Elections featured some celebrities who were looking forward to enter politics while some of them were veteran politicians already. Tito Sotto, Herbert Bautista, Richard Gomez, Lucy Torres-Gomez and Jhong Hilario are just some of the celebrities who are now close to victory while the other celebrities failed on their political attempts.

Re-electionist senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto appears to be included in the winning list as he made it to the Top 12 senators while fellow celebrities, Edu Manzano, Isko Moreno, Mark Lapid, Rey Langit, and Alma Moreno didn’t make it to the list.

Based upon the unofficial partial election results, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista leads the mayoral race in Quezon City, while It’s Showtime mainstay Jhong Hilario is poised to become the No. 1 councilor in the first district of Makati City.

Celebrity politician Alfred Vargas ran unopposed as the Representative of the 5th District of Quezon City. Former Batangas governor Vilma Santos is leading the race as the newest representative of the 6th District of Batangas.

Richard Gomez is set to win the mayoral race in Ormoc City, while his wife Lucy Torres-Gomez topped the congressional race in the 4th District of Leyte. Andrea del Rosario is also leading and set to win the Vice Mayoral race in Calatagan, Batangas.

Daniel Fernando is leading the race against fellow action star Philip Salvador as Vice Governor of Bulacan, Alex Castro also appears to the No. 1 provincial board member in the 4th District of Bulacan.

Jolo Revilla is close to winning the vice gubernatorial race in Cavite while his mother Lani Mercado was already proclaimed as the new mayor of Bacoor, Cavite.
