Religious Group El Shaddai Endorses Binay, Marcos, And 12 Senators
The Catholic charismatic group El Shaddai announced on Friday their support to the Presidential slate of Vice President Jejomar Binay and the Vice presidential run of Senator Bong-Bong Marcos.
According to a report on GMA News, the religious group announced it to their own radio station, dwXI.
The decision was made through a survey done to the members of the group according to the radio anchor.
The anchor Raffy delos Reyes and Rey Vargas said.
“Mga kapatid, ito po ay galing sa ating mahal na pinuno. Ito ay galing sa ating internal survey. Ating iginagalang ang pinili ng karamihan at ito na ang ating pagkakaisahang iboto sa Lunes, May 9, 2016.”
[Brothers and sister, this came from our great leader. This came from our internal survey. We respect who the majority have chosen and this will be our one vote on Monday, May 9, 2016.]
The anchors added that the internal survey said that Binay is chosen for the President, Bong Bong Marcos for vice president and for party list is Buhay.
The group also have chosen 12 senators namely;
- Rafael Alunan
- Leila de Lima
- Rep. Sherwin Gatchalian
- Sen. Teofisto Guingona III
- Sen. Ralph Recto
- Rep. Manny Pacquiao
- Francis Pangilinan
- Juan Miguel Zubiri
- Rep. Martin Romualdez
- Rep. Roman Romulo
- Francis Tolentino
- Joel Villanueva.
The anchors then insisted that the leader of El Shaddai, Bro. Mike Velarde didn’t dictate the group’s members who to choose.
Meanwhile, VP Binay expressed his gratitude towards the members of the religious group who had chosen his as their president.
Binay said that he is grateful and humbled by the endorsement he got from the members of El Shaddai. Also, he thanked Bro. Velarde for giving him the opportunity to speak in front of his congregation.
