Noy To Presidential Bets: Undergo Medical Tests
With regards to his concern, Republic of the Philippines President Aquino dared all presidential candidates to voluntary to undergo psychological and medical examinations to prove if they are fit to lead the nation for the next six years.
Aquino said during an interview, “We will vote for you, will you be able to finish your term? Maybe that is a valid question. And let us leave it to the candidates to answer the call of our fellowmen.”
Aquino also pointed out that it has to be on a voluntary basis after inaugurating the Lipa-Alaminos road that there are rights and privacy issues involved.

The presidential candidates’ mental and physical fitness issue rose after PDP-Laban standard bearer Davao City Mayor Rodirigo Duterte was reported to have made a joke about the case of an Australian missionary, receiving criticisms from various sectors and also in international media.
While President Aquino said that they could not insist on such test, people are entitled to ask and to know about the status of their [presidential candidates] health conditions as the job of the president entails a lot of stress and can be depressing.
Aquino also urged every voter to elect someone who can survive the rigors and could affect meaningful changes within the span of 6 years.
Aquino said, “We are in a democratic state, maybe the candidates should give in to the appeal of the people to determine: what’s the whole truth about the one we are voting for?”
It would be a great idea if candidates would make their medical records public on a voluntary basis according to Election Commissioner Rowena Guanzon.
In her statement, “In other countries, people have the right to learn about the health status of candidates,”
Rowena even added that the candidate’s “health, lifestyle and language are matters of public interest,” especially if they are aiming the highest position in the country.
