50 senatorial candidates battle for few slots – Tito, Kiko, Frank almost have theirs.

Recently, Pulse Asia surveyed who among the 50 brave souls will most likely to make it on the senatorial positions this coming 2016 election. Tito, Kiko, and Frank’s names were the frontrunners in the result.

As May 9 approaches, the tough battle in the field of politics gets tougher and tougher. It’s just between victory and defeat.

Based on the result of the survey conducted by Pulse Asia, eight incumbent or former senators are most likely to secure their slots again this coming election.

Out of the 50 senatorial candidates, with 51.6 percent chance of winning, Senate President Franklin Drilon still leads the race.

The Big Man from Negros is followed by Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III and former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan with 49.8 percent and 46.8 percent chance of winning respectively.

With 40.8 percent possibility to secure a slot, former Senator Panfilo “Ping”” Lacson comes before former Senator Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri who has 38.9 percent chance.

Thirteen candidates will be blessed enough to secure their senatorial slots this coming 2016 election. Completing the thirteen senators were:

Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao (36.3 percent);

former Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Director General Joel Villanueva (35.6 percent);

Senator Ralph Recto (35.6 percent);

Senator Sergio Osmeña III (34.2 percent);

former Sen. Richard “Dick” Gordon (33.8 percent);

former Akbayan Rep. Risa Hontiveros (33.7 percent);

former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima (32.3 percent);

and Valenzuela City Rep. Win Gatchalian (31.5 percent).

Senate President Franklin Drilon recognizes his performance in the congress as the reasons of his leading the senatorial race. Sin Tax Law and PhilHealth were two of it according to the frontrunner.

The survey also found that around 4,000 of the respondents or 34 in percentage basis already have their complete set of senatorial candidates to vote to this coming May 9.
