Grace Poe Pushes Women’s Roles On Gov’t

Presidential candidate Grace Poe affirms that women will play great roles in her government.

In here campaign stop in Pili, Camarines Sur, Grace Poe affirmed that if she will win the 2016 presidential election, women will play key roles in the government.

Forming a council of women volunteers is one of Grace Poe’s plans as she affirmed so.

In her plan, women will play the role of keeping the records on government projects done even to the barangay level.

Further, they are the ones who will be in-charged to be the watchdog on the progress of the government projects and report to the Malacañang in cases that the projects have no progress.

She also added that women volunteers from the different sectors will compose the council. It is going to be a nongovernment group.

She specified that the job of the women is to be the reporter of the projects done in their barangay – most especially with regards to the uncompleted ones.

The monitoring of the projects is one of Grace primary concerns. She added that a list of the government projects will be given to the women who are members of the council.

She justified her plans with distance and implementation as the reasons.

She said that considering the distance to Malacañang, there are cases that things wouldn’t be reported in the higher office.

As an example, she cited the asphalting of a barangay road that was not completed for three years. Poe confirmed that in her administration, women who are highly respected will be asked for the job to report cases like this.

Poe also combat the issue that her womanhood would make it hard for her to handle the country’s problems and as well as manage its security against other forces.

Women have that intrinsic nurturing nature but that should not be regarded as a weak point of women according to Poe.
