Veteran journalist Korina Sanchez, the wife of presidential aspirant Mar Roxas claimed on social media that her husband has received positive feedback over the comic book that depicted the Liberal Party standard-bearer as a hero. Korina Sanchez was unfazed by the social criticisms against her husband.

The viral comic book depicted Mar Roxas on how he supposedly helped saved the lives of the victims of super typhoon Yolanda that hit Tacloban City last November 2013. The veteran journalist claimed that everyone is happy about Mar Roxas comics and even posted pictures showing how some voters are all smiles while reading the controversial “Sa Gitna ng Unos.”
Korina Sanchez added the following message to her viral post “To end the day, bilang pangwakas…. So happy everyone is happy about Mar’s Komiks! Pinagkakaguluhan sa Palengke ng Tarlac!,” read one of her captions.
Based upon the photos posted by Korina Sanchez on her official Instagram account, the photos were taken during a campaign sortie in Tarlac and Nueva Vizcaya.
Although Korina Sanchez depended her husband on the controversial komiks, netizens and even some Catholic priests have criticized the comic book for supposedly misrepresenting Roxas as a hero in Tacloban when Yolanda hit the city. One of the most intriguing part of the viral comic book was when Mar Roxas told the Yolanda victims that they should hide inside the basement of the hotel despite the fact that the building was already flooded up to the second floor as claimed by some netizens on Facebook.
Some supporter of Mar Roxas disputes the statement of some netizens on social media as they noted that Mar Roxas stayed at the Leyte Park Hotel which they claimed located in the hill of Tacloban City and there was no flooding on their area due to storm surge because of its hilly position. The upper floor of the hotel were already destroyed by the strong winds and there’s no better place to hide than the basement.
