La Salle Lady Spikers Returns to Final Four of the UAAP Women’s Volleyball

One of the country’s most prominent college volleyball team, De La Salle University Lady Spikers is now back to the place where they belong the Final Four of the Universities Athletic Association (UAAP) Women’s Volleyball tournament after they dispatched Adamson University in straight sets.

The La Salle vs. Adamson game was held at the PhilSports Arena, the Lady Spikers used their sensational service game to break the Lady Falcons en route to a 25-13, 25-11, 25-18 victory that hiked their record to 9-2. The Lady Spikers returned to the Final Four on their eighth consecutive season.

Aside from La Salle, the other team that already made it to the Final Four is their arch-rival Ateneo de Manila University as both teams remained tied at the top of the league in terms of win-loss card.

During La Salle’s last game against Adamson, the Lady Falcons was more competitive in the third set and even trailed by just one point, 7-8, when sophomre May Roque went down with an apparent knee injury after landing awkwardly on her left leg. The Adamson star received treatment and was able to walk off on her own power, but she did not return to the contest.

La Salle’s Kim Dy led the Lady Spikers with 11 points, including four aces while fellow La Salle star Fajardo finished with 10 points and 33 excellent sets, Ara Galang added with 10 points. Due to the Lady Falcons defeat, they suffered their fourth straight lost and drop to 3-8 and remained winless in the second round of the UAAP Women’s Volleyball competition.
